I have been seeing a LOT of beautiful floral-inspired wedding stuff out there. So pretty, so feminine – you really can’t go wrong.

A detail from a real Diva wedding – Stephanie changed her accessories from cream to orange in between the ceremony & reception, but the flower theme flowed through. Wonderful!

Clockwise:
1. CottonBirdDesigns – Etsy.com I would love to see these on a cake or as table decorations.
2. Solar Lanterns (runs of AA batteries) from Allsop Home & Garden
3. The floral J Crew Bridesmaid dress. Honestly, I just want this for the summer since I can’t have the wedding dress (you know, already being married and all). It also comes in navy. Swoon.
4. A night shot of the solar lantern
5. Detail of the most amazing J. Crew wedding dress. Would it be weird if I just bought this to wear around the house? I love it so much.
6. More of the amazing dress.
7. Myra Kim – Etsy.com
Happy Floral!!! ~shannon
I suffer from acute spring fever. It is such a lovely time of year. I can open the windows, flowers are blooming and everything seems so fresh and promising. Here are a few of my favorite spring browsings from Etsy.com. Some are wedding related, some not, but I hope you enjoy.
Traveling clockwise
1. T-Shirt from Isotope
3. Garter with vintage embellishments from Cosabea
4. Peacock feather hair clip. By the way, want to make your photographer VERY happy? Show up to your bridal or Day After Session wearing one of these. I swoon over fancy, fun hair accessories.
5. Daisy letterpress wedding invitations
6. A pair of earrings that I picked up for myself from this little gem of a shop
Happy Spring!!!!!!!!

I (Shannon) got to attend (and photograph) wedding trend heaven last Friday – The Austin Wedding & Event Coordinators Media luncheon.
I got to listen in on all the trends for the upcoming year, which included renting cool, modern lounge furniture, ideas for green weddings (which you know is close to my heart from the below post), fashion for your wedding gown (!!!), lighting options (seriously, check out that huge LED screen in the images!) and a lot of reasons why you should hire a wedding coordinator (I am on board with that completely). I’m going to let a friend of the Divas (the lovely and talented Becky Brock of Something to Celebrate) elaborate on the trends in a later post, but for now, enjoy the images! Click HERE
There has been a lot of talk lately about ‘Green Weddings’, which we think is great. You use recyclable grocery totes and have changed all of your lightbulbs to CFL bulbs, so why not have your wedding day represent your everyday values?
There are lots of options for adding Earth-friendly touches to your wedding. As a suggestion, Google “Recycled Paper Wedding Invitations” and you’ll get lots of choices, which are gorgeous as well as eco-conscious.
Austin’s own Barr mansion offers a completely organic menu and it’s a gorgeous venue. Also look at the pretty pictures Sherry took~
A really easy thing to do is source things for your wedding locally – buy from Austin vendors, buy things that are made with local raw materials. Shipping things in by car or plane really adds to you ‘Carbon Footprint’. This is something that I (Shannon) have really been trying to think about. I am an internet shopping addict (it’s just so easy!), but I’ve been more thoughtful about my purchases lately. I always try to think of a local place to get things before I hop online.
Another fun and interesting link to look at is THIS one. It helps you calculate your wedding carbon footprint.
Have fun being eco-conscious. Remember it’s another great way to personalize YOUR day!! Also, feel free to leave any other suggestions or links you may have in the comments.
Greenly Yours,
~Shannon
